During a meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda effective steps were proposed for the practical implementation of a project to open trade houses in the capitals of both countries.
As reported by Turkmenistan's official media, the meeting also discussed trade and economic cooperation with interest.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also suggested taking coordinated measures to increase the volume and diversify the range of trade turnover, including by promoting the development of direct links between private companies and business circles of the two countries.

According to reports, during a joint business forum and exhibition of export products held on May 8, 2023, in Dushanbe, Tajikistani entrepreneurs showed significant interest in Turkmen textile products.

In this context, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed readiness to consider the possibility of implementing the first pilot project for establishing a textile factory on the territory of the friendly state with the participation of Turkmen companies. Given the above, Turkmenistan also expressed readiness to organize a meeting of relevant ministries and agencies of both countries to study and discuss this issue.

Moreover, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his official visit to Tajikistan, held a working meeting with some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and other relevant officials.
