Turkmenistan and Afghanistan Discuss LPG Delivery

Batyr Amanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, overseeing the country's fuel and energy complex, met with an Afghan delegation led by Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Ashgabat on Wednesday. The discussions centered around the supply of liquefied gas from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

As reported by Afghanistan’s official media on Thursday, during the meeting, Muttaqi reaffirmed Afghanistan's strong commitment to the practical implementation of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project and expressed optimism about commencing and swiftly completing the first phase of pipeline construction in the Herat province.

Amanov praised the efforts of the Afghan government in implementing the TAPI project, emphasizing the importance of energy transfer, especially in the context of this project.

On February 28 of the current year, a meeting took place in Ashgabat between Mammethan Chakyyev, the Director-General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, and the Afghan delegation led by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi.
