Lebap Farmers Harvest More Than 12.6 Thousand Tonnes of Potatoes

Farmers of Lebap province harvested over 12,600 tonnes of autumn potatoes on 900 hectares of cultivated land this year.

Farmers of the eastern region harvested 8,563 tonnes of carrots from 475 hectares of cultivated land this year, exceeding the production plan, the official Turkmen media reports.

Furthermore, the farmers in Chärcev district delivered 4,200 tonnes of potatoes and 5,310 tonnes of carrots to the State warehouse. Similarly, the Sayat district farmers contributed 2,000 tonnes of potatoes and 2,340 tonnes of carrots. Additionally, the farmers in Dänev district delivered 4,200 tonnes of potatoes. Lastly, the farmers in Halach district made a notable contribution with 1,260 tonnes of potatoes and 540 tonnes of carrots. 

As reported, a sufficient number of ready products are sent to local shops and markets, while the rest are sent to specialised cold storage facilities operated by the Mive Agro-Industrial Association of Lebap province.
