Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tashkent on a working visit to attend the 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), the official Turkmen media reports.

Uzbek officials and members of the Turkmen government delegation greeted President Berdimuhamedov upon his arrival at the Islam Karimov International Airport in the capital of Uzbekistan. 

As part of the visit, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, will meet with his Uzbek counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Additionally, he will deliver a speech at the 16th ECO meeting, where he will present Ashgabat's perspective on fostering effective economic interaction within the Organisation.

Turkmenistan currently serves as the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Chair. The preceding 15th ECO Summit occurred in Ashgabat on November 28, 2021. During the Chairmanship period, a Concept was formulated to enhance mutually advantageous partnerships in trade and economic cooperation, investment, transportation and logistics, energy, and culture and humanitarian affairs within the ECO region. The 15th ECO Summit culminated in adopting the Final Document - the Ashgabat Consensus for Action.
