Private Enterprises to Annually Recycle 500 Thousand Tons of Waste
Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" waste hierarchy.

At a meeting of the Government on June 14, Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Chary Gylyjov reported that members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan established small enterprises for the manufacturing of products by processing recycled plastic, paper, polyethylene, rubber and wood.

According to the report, the entrepreneurs also plan to implement projects for the processing of solid waste in the provinces of the country. These projects will be implemented through the investments of private parties and loan funds. The enterprises will recycle about 500 thousand tons of waste a year, which will contribute to environmental protection.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supported the proposals of entrepreneurs, noting that, in the long term, the recycling and production from recycled materials are of great importance for the green economy.

Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" waste hierarchy. Recycling aims at environmental sustainability by substituting raw material inputs into and redirecting waste outputs out of the economic system.
