Turkmenistan’s foreign trade turnover reached nearly $20 billion in 2024, stated Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs, during the Turkmenistan Economic Investment Forum (TEIF 2025) in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
According to Jepbarov’s report, exports totaled $12.7 billion, with a trade surplus of $4.4 billion.
Jepbarov emphasized that Turkmenistan has established a solid legal framework that includes provisions to safeguard foreign investments.
To achieve its strategic objectives, the country is implementing development programs guided by modern approaches and a forward-looking vision. As a result, Turkmenistan’s economy grew by more than 6.3% in 2024.
The Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs also announced plans to begin construction of the Ashgabat–Turkmenbashi highway section in 2025.
