Turkmenistan is set to open the Magtymguly Pyragy cultural park complex and a monument to the distinguished Turkmen literary figure in Ashgabat on May 17 of this year. 

During a government online session on Thursday, Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister for Culture and Media, Mahrijemal Mammedova, reported on the schedule of main events and openings of socio-cultural facilities planned for May, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media.

Per the Deputy Prime Minister's briefing, festivities commemorating Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 are scheduled across the capital and regions of the nation on May 9, while the 10th assembly of the National Commissions for UNESCO from Turkic-speaking member nations will convene in Ashgabat on May 16.

Mammedova also announced that celebrations in honor of Constitution Day and State Flag Day of Turkmenistan will take place in Ashgabat on May 18, including the opening ceremony of the reconstructed Main Flag Square.

The 23rd Universal International Exhibition "White City Ashgabat" is slated for May 24–25 at the Trade and Industrial Chamber, while an exhibition in celebration of Turkmen Carpet Day is set to take place on May 26 at the National Carpet Museum, alongside the 24th conference of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs, as highlighted by the deputy prime minister.

Turkmenistan's President emphasized the need for thorough preparation for the opening ceremonies of socio-cultural facilities, celebrations for Victory Day, Constitution Day, State Flag Day of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat City Day, and Turkmen Carpet Day, and to conduct them at a high organizational level, by assigning specific tasks to the deputy prime minister.

During the Cabinet of Ministers session, matters of state importance were also discussed.
