A delegation from Turkmenistan led by Deputy Chairman of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Oil) State Concern, Myrat Archayev, met with the Chief of Staff of the European Commissioner for Energy, Stefano Grassi, on April 2, 2024, in Brussels, Belgium.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU in the energy sector, particularly in technology exchange, as reported by Turkmenistan’s Embassy in Belgium.

During the meeting, discussions covered various topics including the historical context of Central Asia-EU relations, Turkmenistan's potential in the global energy market, especially its natural gas reserves and supply opportunities, as well as various infrastructure projects and cooperation mechanisms.

Later, the Turkmen delegation met with the Principal Advisor for Energy Diplomacy of the European External Action Service, Tibor Stelbaczki. The conversation emphasized collaboration in renewable energy sources, methane emission reduction, and natural gas supply from Turkmenistan.

Additionally, on the same day, a meeting of the Working Group on Turkmenistan-EU Energy took place in Brussels.
