Turkmenistan Celebrates the Sacred Holiday of Eid al-Fitr

Turkmenistan, on the occasion of the end of the sacred month of Ramadan, on Wednesday celebrates the holiday of Eid al-Fitr or Oraza Bayram. Festive prayers were held in all regions of Turkmenistan, including the city of Ashgabat. 

According to the official media of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the Turkmen people on the sacred holiday that preaches the spiritual and moral ideals of humanity and serves as a high symbol of charity, kindness, and humanism.

"In the blessed days of the sacred month of Ramadan, with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero of Arkadag, a mosque named after Seyit Jamal ad-Din was opened in the ancient city of Anau, and also in Night of al-Qadr - the Night of Mercy and Virtue, when the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed, new mosques were opened in the villages of Hazar, Ruhubelent, Dovletli, and in the city of Shatlyk," said the Turkmen Leader.

"May the Almighty accept your blessings and prayers, performed taraweeh prayers, sadaqa, and recited verses in the blessed month of Ramadan in the name of enhancing the world glory of our neutral country, the prosperous and happy life of the people!" - said the President of Turkmenistan in his congratulatory message.

Congratulations on the occasion of the holiday were sent to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide and marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
