Maksat Charyyev, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to France, and Dr. Fatih Birol, the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), held a meeting at the agency's headquarters in Paris, France, on Wednesday to discuss IEA's participation in the upcoming International Forum on Foreign Investment in Turkmenistan's Energy Sector (TEIF 2024). The forum is scheduled for April 24-25, 2024, in Paris.
As reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, the parties exchanged views on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IEA.
Key figures in the global energy sector, including representatives from leading energy, construction, and transportation-communication companies, international organizations, and global financial institutions, are expected to participate in the forum.
Ambassador Charyyev expressed gratitude for the willingness to discuss collaboration opportunities and presented an official invitation to Dr. Birol for participation in the forum.
Birol noted that the IEA highly values Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's recent initiative to join the Global Methane Pledge and other international environmental initiatives voiced at COP-28. He expressed the IEA's readiness to provide comprehensive support to Turkmenistan in implementing projects of global significance.
TEIF-2024, organized by Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) and Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) state concerns in collaboration with Türkmen Forum ES and the British company GaffneyCline, will take place at the Hyatt Regency Etoile hotel in Paris.
