The Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan Annageldi Saparov and the top management of Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation met with the Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamza, who is on a two-day visit to Turkmenistan with a delegation from the company.

According to the contract, up to 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity will be supplied through four routes: Andkhoy, Aqina, Badghis, and Turgundi-Herat, the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC) of Afghanistan reported on Monday.

According to the announcement, Turkmenenergo confirmed completing the 500 kV transmission line from Sheberghan to Argandab. The recently opened transmission line will enable Afghanistan to increase its electricity purchases from Turkmenistan.

The meeting also discussed the Nur-ul-Jihad substation project in Herat province.

In December last year, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the Afghan power utility company, met with Turkmen officials to discuss electricity procurement 2024 and the expedited launch of the Nur-ul-Jihad substation in Herat province.
