Lebap Farmers Achieve Near 50,000-Tonne Rice Harvest in 2023

Farmers in Lebap province cultivated over 10,000 hectares of land with rice and successfully delivered 50,000 tonnes of rice to the state thresher in the 2023 rice season, the official Turkmen media reported on Friday. 

During the rice season, the rice farmers in the Chardjev district harvested over 15,000 tonnes of rice from 3,080 hectares of land. The report indicates high yields, stating that each hectare produced 4 tonnes and 925 kilograms (or 49.25 centners) of rice.

Farmers in the Danev district of Lebap province achieved a rice harvest, gathering over 10,000 tonnes of rice from a cultivated area of 2,160 hectares.

Farmers of the Koytendag, Kerki, Halach and Hojambaz districts of the East Region of Turkmenistan have fully achieved their yearly rice harvest plans.
