Turkmen President Expected to Visit Bishkek

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is expected to visit Bishkek to participate in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, TASS reported on Thursday, citing the Russian President's aide for international affairs Yuri Ushakov.

The presidential aide specified that the meeting, scheduled for October 13, will also be attended by the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

It is expected that a significant number of joint documents will be signed after the summit, the Kremlin spokesman said.

The CIS Council of Foreign Ministers began its regular meeting in Bishkek on October 12 under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev, according to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry. Turkmenistan is represented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

At the meeting, foreign ministers of the CIS member states will discuss the international agenda and cooperation within the Commonwealth, as well as consider draft decisions to be submitted to the meetings of the Council of Heads of Government and the CIS Council of Heads of State, according to the press service.
