Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Saparmyrat Palvanov, presented an invitation to the diplomatic advisor of the President of the European Parliament, Sylvia Kosinska, on behalf of European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, to participate in the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will take place on December 12 in Ashgabat, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium on Wednesday.
The invitation was handed over on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed important regional and global issues. They highlighted the significance of fostering peaceful dialogue and strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
The discussions particularly emphasized Turkmenistan's initiatives within the framework of the United Nations-declared International Year of Peace and Trust, to be observed in 2025.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed mutual interest in enhancing constructive and long-term dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
