The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Croatia, Annamammet Annaev, held a meeting on Wednesday in Zagreb with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Croatia, Goran Romek, Co-Chairman of the Croatian side of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. During the meeting, Turkmen diplomat proposed organizing trade and economic exhibitions of Croatian companies in Ashgabat and Turkmen producers in Zagreb.

According to the diplomat, this initiative could provide an additional boost to the development of business ties between the two countries and promote national products, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania.

The main topic of the meeting was the preparation for the upcoming fourth session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is scheduled to take place later this year in the capital of Turkmenistan.

The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector. Ambassador Annaev noted Croatia’s international reputation as a tourist destination and expressed interest in learning from Croatia’s experience in this field. There was also a proposal to establish direct contacts between tour operators and relevant structures from both countries.

At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including by exploring new promising areas of cooperation.
