Ojar Aziýa private enterprise and the Chinese company China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the construction of the high-speed highway Sarahs–Mary–Serhetabat, as announced by official media of Turkmenistan on Thursday.
The document aims to strengthen the partnership between the parties regarding technical and financial support for road construction. The signed memorandum includes plans for scientific and technical cooperation and the implementation of high-tech solutions necessary for creating modern transport infrastructure.
The parties agreed on joint initiatives to attract investments for the large-scale infrastructure project. The high-speed highway is expected to become a key link in Turkmenistan's transport network, improving logistics and strengthening regional connections.
The Sarahs-Mary-Serhetabat highway will pass through two major provinces of Turkmenistan—Ahal and Mary. The total length of the highway will be approximately 450 kilometers, including 35 kilometers of connecting roads. The project plans for the highway to have four lanes and a width of 27.5 meters, with a median strip separating opposing traffic.
