Turkmenistan and Armenia Explore Ways to Boost Bilateral Trade

Muhammetgeldi Ayazov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia, met on Friday with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mnatsakan Safaryan. The parties discussed ways to increase trade between the two countries by utilizing transportation opportunities.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Armenia, Safaryan noted that Armenia is currently undertaking relevant measures to develop the transportation sector, create new opportunities, and enhance connections with Central Asian countries. He also expressed Armenia's keen interest in transportation corridors involving Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and transportation-logistics spheres.

Ayazov and Safaryan discussed the development of cooperation within international and regional organizations, particularly the CIS.

The agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Turkmen-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was also discussed during the meeting.
