Turkmenistan and UAE Explore Advanced Technology Collaboration in Oil Industry

Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit, engaged in discussions with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the United Arab Emirates and Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). 

The talks emphasized the pivotal role of fostering relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the oil industry, highlighting the potential collaboration in integrating advanced UAE technologies into this sector, as reported by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan on Tuesday.

In line with the agreements forged at the leadership level of both states, the parties deliberated on specific steps for implementation, outlining a series of activities for the immediate future. The meeting also saw the participation of Mohammed Jamil Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR).

Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, met with Saeed Al Tayer, Managing and Executive Director of the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) on the same day. The discussions encompassed crucial aspects of bilateral cooperation in water, economic, and electricity sectors, exploring prospects for further development. The meeting identified collaboration in renewable energy sources as a promising avenue for Turkmen-Emirati interaction.

The Turkmen delegation, led by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Rashid Meredov, actively participated in the World Government Summit (WGS 2024) meetings on February 12, 2024.
