In a press conference at his Ashgabat residence on Thursday, U.S. Ambassador Matthew Klimow revealed the culmination of his 4.5-year diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, set to conclude in 2024. 

Expressing gratitude for the enriching experience, Ambassador Klimow reflected on the noteworthy strides in bilateral relations achieved in 2023.

During this period, Ambassador Klimow emphasized the historic meeting between President Joe Biden and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

The fruitful visit extended to New York, where President Berdimuhamedov engaged in impactful consultations with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Special Presidential Envoy John Kerry, marking a momentous chapter in diplomatic ties.
