The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday. During the conversation, the sides discussed the prospects of the development of interstate cooperation built on the principles of mutual benefit and equal partnership.
At the beginning of the conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated each other on the coming New Year, wishing the two nations peace, happiness, well-being and prosperity. Taking the opportunity, the leader of Uzbekistan also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the official Turkmen media reports.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of continuing the strategic dialogue and strengthening its trust component, stating that the current times require greater unity, consolidation of efforts and coordination of actions from our neighbouring and friendly states to ensure sustainable and steady development in Central Asia.
The two sides noted that they aim to continuously develop the brotherly relations between the two countries at the spiritual level inherent to their nations and expressed satisfaction that the cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has already been enriched with new content.
During the telephone conversation, the two leaders also noted the willingness of the two countries to intensify strategic partnerships in transport and energy.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished each other good health and great success in their responsible state activity.
