Daewoo Engineering & Construction Opens Its New Branch In Ashgabat

A branch of Daewoo Engineering & Construction was opened in Ashgabat on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea informs.

At the opening ceremony of a new branch of Daewoo Engineering & Construction in Ashgabat, South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin met with Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister for Construction and Industry Baymyrat Annamammedov.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed great appreciation for the valuable contributions made by Korean companies to developing the Turkmen economy. He mentioned Korea's significant involvement in essential projects, such as constructing a sulphur purification complex at the Galkynysh field and a gas chemical plant in Kiyanli. The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed optimism and a strong willingness to further enhance cooperation between South Korea and Turkmenistan, particularly in energy and infrastructure.

Park Jin, speaking on behalf of the Korean side, urged Turkmenistan to enhance cooperation and emphasized Korean companies' strong interest in participating in significant projects, including the construction of fertilizer plants, the establishment of natural gas liquefaction facilities, and the development of desulphurization plants. Furthermore, Park Jin expressed his intention to support the Korean business community to enter the Turkmenistan market and expand cooperation in energy and infrastructure.

On November 1 this year, Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 16th Central Asia+South Korea Cooperation Forum. During his official visit to Ashgabat, the Korean foreign minister met with his Turkmen counterpart, Rashid Meredov.
