Turkmenistan's Foreign Trade Turnover Increases by 8.4%
Retail turnover climbed by 9.5% in January-March 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

Foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan increased by 8.4 percent in January-March 2023 compared to the same period last year, Deputy Chairman of Turkmen Government in charge of economic and financial issues Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported at the online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.

According to the deputy chairman’s report on macroeconomic data for January-March 2023, GDP increased by 6% over the same time last year.

Retail turnover climbed by 9.5% compared to the same period in 2022. In Turkmenistan, the average wage in large and medium firms surged 9.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

The deputy chairman’s report on the implementation of Turkmen President’s social and economic development program for 2022-2028, construction works have been completed in 7 out of 370 objects, with 105 planned to be built and reconstructed in the first quarter of 2023.

During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov said that since the beginning of the year, GDP growth has been stable at 6.2 percent and wages have increased by 10 percent.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan listened to the reports of deputy prime ministers, governors on the results of work in the first quarter of 2023 and discussed the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan.
