Turkmenabat Chemical Plant Produces 150 Thousand Tons of Phosphate Fertilizers

Turkmenabat Chemical Plant in Turkmenistan’s eastern province of Lebap produced more than 150,000 tons of phosphate fertilizers in the first seven months of this year.

The plant also produced more than 58 thousand tons of sulfuric acid during the period, the local official media reported on Thursday.

The enterprise also produces sulfur-infused disinfectant chemicals, medical and technical oxygen.

It is also actively developing cooperation with representatives of the private sector, who propose to establish joint production. One of such cooperation examples is Kökçi Economic Society producing batteries for vehicles at the plant. The company produced nearly 28 million manats worth of batteries last year.

Built in 1960, Turkmenabat Chemical Plant is presently one of the largest chemicals production facility in Turkmenistan. The plant includes 26 production workshops.
