Turkmenistan Receives New Medical Equipment For Reanimation, Intensive Care Units

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan handed over medical equipment for reanimation and intensive care units to the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan (MHMIT), the UNDP announced on Wednesday.

The delivery of the equipment, including ultrasound equipment, defibrillators, cardio monitors, pulse oximeters and infra-red thermometers worth more than $222.3 thousand, was carried out under the Turkmenistan COVID-19 Response Project funded by the World Bank.

The $20 million project is being implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan with the UNICEF and the WHO office in Turkmenistan to help the country strengthen preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the project, $970 thousand worth of medical products was delivered to the MHMIT in May.
