UK and Ukraine Ambassadors Complete Their Diplomatic Missions in Turkmenistan

Separate meetings were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Turkmenistan whose diplomatic missions in the country has completed, according to the press release issued by MFA of Turkmenistan on Monday.

At the beginning of the meeting with the UK Ambassador Ms. Thorhilda Mary Vivia Abbott-Watt, who began her diplomatic service in Ashgabat in 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Meredov expressed the words of gratitude on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for her personal contribution in the development of bilateral ties based on the principles of equality, respect and openness. Ms. Abbott-Watt expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for multifaceted support in the process of widening mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Great Britain.

During the meeting between Ukraine’s Ambassador Shevalyov and MFA of Turkmenistan Meredov, the diplomats reiterated the adherence to further strengthening of ties between Turkmenistan and Ukraine, as well as underlined the necessity of further collaboration between the foreign policy agencies of two countries.

Ambassador Shevalyov thanked the Turkmen side for support in the implementation of his diplomatic mission in the country and noted the hospitality of Turkmen people.
